As part of Resident Evil’s 20th anniversary, Capcom have just revealed plans to bring ports of the last three Resident Evil titles to current-gen consoles. The project is currently considered to just be a straight port to the console, however Resident Evil 6 will be shipped up to date with all DLC. Each game will be released individually, with 6 coming up March 29th, 5 in the summer, and saving the best for last, 4 will be available to us in all its glory in the fall.
The games will retail at $20 / £15 each and those in the Americas will be able to grab a physical copy of each game rather than just a download.
Though the media are currently treating the games as straight ports only – there is hope that there will be some form of remaster. Capcom spoke publicly in May last year of their encouragement after the success of Resident Evil HD Remastered and new focus on remasters and re-releases. They weren’t lying, we’re still waiting on the Resident Evil 2 remake, and the publishers received promising reviews of their Resident Evil and Resident Evil 0 remasters.
