Blizzard’s upcoming team-based shooter Overwatch is to be released on May 24th. However, eager fans will be able to apply for the open beta that will take place May 5-9 across all consoles the game will be released for: Xbox One, PS4, and PC. If you’re a pre-ordering kinda player, then get on it by April 29th, and you can go ahead with that beta from the 3rd with a friend.
The beta will show off Overwatch‘s impressive haul of 21 heroes, as well as every map that will be available at launch. Originally, Overwatch was set to be released on PC only, however November 2015 saw big changes in the game’s development, and it was quickly revealed to be a console release also. Subsequently, if you’re playing on consoles you’ll need Xbox Live Gold to take part in the beta, however PS Plus will not be needed for the beta, but will for launch day.
Blizzard also announced that they have more information heading our way in the upcoming weeks, and region specific times are still to be determined, so stay tuned to stay in the know.
