Cross-platform play is still a distant truce between Xbox and PlayStation, however the much awaited VR title Eve: Valkyrie will see players sharing the love across Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and PlayStation VR.
Speaking at the EVE Fanfest 2016 in Reykjavik, Iceland, executive Eve producer Owen O’Brien announced the multi-platform compatibility. The space-shooter is available on Oculus now, is coming to Vive, and will launch with PlayStation VR in October, says developer CCP. Cross-platform play is not likely to be implemented in the game until Sony steps up to the table with PlayStation VR, so we’ll have to wait for some multi-platform adoption. The game is essentially a five-on-five space shootout, and has so far seen successful adoption by early Oculus buyers.
CCP also announced Carrier Assault mode, a new game mode which sees your team take down a single, bigger enemy part by part. The new update will also allow players to hook up a joystick controller to their system, perfect for this flight simulation.
