Since its announcement at E3 2015, not much has been heard of Arkane Studios’ Dishonored 2. A sequel to their 2012 original, Dishonored, the title has been confirmed for release on November 11 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
It has been revealed that players will have the opportunity to play as either Corvo Attano or Emily Kaldwin, both returning from the first game. Missions will be the same whichever character is chosen, however their path and perspective are shaped differently. Character abilities have been shaped according to these differing paths and perspectives – Attano still has his supernatural powers, but Emily will employ “far reach” ability.
Players will have the opportunity to attempt completion of the game in a full stealth mode, without any bloodshed. But there are is a ‘brutal combat system’ to make full use of. In the past, Arkane has hinted that there will be a third possible narrative pathway through the game, however there hasn’t been any commentary on this notion for a good while now.
We’ll be hearing more about the release from Bethesda at E3, however The Bethesda E3 Showcase is also a thing. Bethesda are hosting a pre-E3 event, on June 12th, which will see upcoming games showed off, demo titles available for play, and a secret band.
