Uncharted 4’s Photo Mode: Explained

Uncharted 4 has already melted the hearts of many players, and industry veterans, with its glorious visuals and the folks over at Naughty Dog know exactly how to push it even further.

Introducing ‘Photo Mode’ – a system that will be implemented in the game that allows you to pause action at any time and adjust camera settings to take beautiful photographs of your time in the Uncharted universe. It’s led to some stunning photography from those who have tried it out, and a brilliant chance for Naughty Dog to let its fans do its marketing footwork for them (as if there’s any to be done at this point).

The feature will give players a reason to stop and take in their surroundings – paying close attention to each of Naughty Dog’s graphical feats. The artwork and detail will become a spectacle itself, rather than accessory to the action. In a series that has thrived so fervently based on the immersion and photorealism of its environment, it makes sense for its developers to want to draw attention to it in their final series instalment.
