Just yesterday we had an influx of information regarding the PS4 version of Rise of the Tomb Raider. The 20 Year Celebration edition will include all DLC from the previous Xbox One and PC version, as well as a new chapter and VR support, due for release October 11.
However it’s the cover art that caught Uncharted developer Neil Druckmann’s eye yesterday.
It seems that Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration bears an uncanny resemblance to Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection in terms of box art at least. Both franchises have been intertwined for years now – they share the same adventure mechanics and narrative premise – and Uncharted has never quite been able to shake its ‘Dude Raider’ nickname. Perhaps then, we see in this PS4 20th anniversary edition, a wry nod to Lara Croft’s younger brother.
Meanwhile, the latest Tomb Raider movie has just been set for a March 2018 release.
