They started making the game a year after PS3 was released… so we can hold on a little longer.
It’s been a long road for The Last Guardian, the PS4 adventure from gen DESIGN and Japan Studio. The project began way back in 2007, that’s 11 years of development so far, plus a few extra weeks for their latest delay.
In a PlayStation Blog post today, Sony told players that:
“The Last Guardian development team is fast approaching major milestones in production and has made the tough decision to delay the release of The Last Guardian a few weeks”
While the official release date previously stood at October 25th, we’re now looking at a December 6th release for North America, 7th for Europe, and 9th for the UK. The blog essentially states that in their final play testing before hitting that shiny gold disk, a larger number of bugs reared their ugly heads than initially expected. I’d rather they held out for a few more weeks than release a plagued product, and what’s a fortnight in the grand scheme of The Last Guardian’s gargantuan journey. They started making the game a year after PS3 was released… so we can hold on a little longer.
