Someone’s just cleared Titanfall 2’s Training Gauntlet in 20.6 seconds

Tutorials are often the low point of a game playing experience. If you’re acquainted with the game itself, they often represent a mind-numbingly boring barrier to the game you’ve just shelled out for. However Respawn have flipped the switch on that prologue by presenting the training gauntlet in their new sequel Titanfall 2.

Designed to remind players of controls and shooting mechanics, the training arena presents a series of enemies through a timed course that ranks players’ best scores on a live leaderboard. For some, it represents a nice title page, for others it’s become a challenge in itself. YouTuber Gamesager is one of those challengers.

The playthrough ‘master’ has already set the world record time of 20.6 seconds to get through the arena. In the video, available below, it’s clear that they’ve got every move down to a perfect time. After a couple of warm up rounds, they gear up for the real deal and smash through the record bringing in an amazing time.

Developers have warned that Titanfall 2 soups up the speed of the game in this latest franchise instalment, so speed runs may become a defining factor of the title.

Titanfall 2 is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Despite some disappointing early sales, many players are emerging from the Battlefield 1 trenches, due in part no doubt by the fact they can’t actually play it with all the server issues, to take a look at the shooter sitting in its shadow. With free DLC and mapsTitanfall 2 is looking set to be an incredibly rewarding investment despite its untimely release.
